how does that work when I go to the doctor? I just asked the same question, but I worded it all wrong, I think. So, I go to the doctor with strep throat and my co-pay is $50 and I have a $10000 deductable. How much will I actually pay? Logic tells me that with a deductable, like car insurance, I would pay for the entire office visit cost, since it would obviously be less than $10000. And a $25 co-pay for prescriptions! So, with that said, I would be paying a monthly payment of $900, the $50 co-pay, and the visit bill. I understand that insurance is for when really bad things happen, but geez. Is this really what people pay? We've been without insurance for 4 years and pay about $30 and office visit (by paying cash) and go to Publix and get $4 prescriptions. My home & Auto insurance has doubled thisyear. I called today to ask why as I had no claims or tickets. The reason I was told was the new way that rates are based. My agent said that your credit score is now used in the calculation of your rate. I then received a $550 fine for not having insurance, but not for speeding. because the insurance I'm under now (TriCare) runs out when I turn 21. Problem is: I have bipolar 2 disorder. According to a law, once accident happened the insurance only pay for repair from new damages not from old damages. It's insurance fraud if they pay for whole repair that is not part of their causes. When the accident happen, it cause rear bumper to fall off and it needed new bumper, how can insurance pay for new bumper if some of it was already damages when I buy those car? Ok I am 18 going on 19 this summer. I got my license last January(I was 17, 2009) I drive a 2008 Yellow Chevy Aveo LS. No alarm. I have a clean driving record. I kept a 3.0 average when I was in school. I drive about 20-30 miles a day. The car is in my name. I got the loan in August 2009 and I have never been late on a payment. My payment is $208 and I pay $210 (banker said it helps) and I usually pay it early but never late! I have no debt otherwise. I have GAP coverage through my bank too. I live in Utah. I rent an apartment. I will be the only driver. I am looking for cheap insurance since I am young. My mother and I cannot get along and likes to hang this over my head and use it to control me so I want off! No ties. Please if you know of a good cheap insurance company (It has to be full coverage for my loan) let me know. Or if you are an insurance agent and can help I would appreciate it! Thanks!
