I had a very small accident over a month ago. I rolled about 2mph accidently into their back. There was no damage that either of us could see. My insurance company rung me up today and said she had made a claim but I didn't remember the accident at first because of how long ago it was and how minor it was. The person on the phone seemed suspicious about that. And now I am worried they think I might being doing something dodgy. How would I know if they thought this? Would someone higher ring back that day? I've also never had or done a claim before so got nervous and my mind went blank. (it's what I'm like, my parents normally deal with my car issues). I was Driving down a road going about 35-40 mph. ( Speed Limit was 45 mph ) I was going straight, and this woman coming the opposite direction decides to turn into a cut out, that goes into a shopping center, and as she turns in to the cut out she just keeps going, out into the street I slam as hard as I could, on my brakes but I still hit her, I hit her on the passengers side in between the 2 doors. Now the air bag deployed in my truck, and all of the air bags deployed in her car. My Truck looks like it will probably be totaled the bumper is ruined, the hood is ruined, the headlight is broken, The door I had to practically pry open because it was stuck, Smoke started coming out of the truck headlight broken Paint, I think the radiator broke, etc.... etc... Both Vehicles had to be towed away. I have good insurance on our cars, but since this isn't my fault the other woman's insurance will have to pay my medical bills, and to fix my truck, or give me blue book value on it right? An elderly lady backed up into my car a few days ago and we decided it'd be best to file an insurance claim. After the claim was ruled in my favor I was sent to a body shop for an estimate of the repair. Does anyone know if it would be possible to go back and get a new estimate/settlement for a new rear quarter panel?
